The Art of Being Val!

• As a native of California, I have lived all over the northern state  from Yuba City to the Bay area. Growing up I was introduced to hard work at a very young age. Shortly after arriving to the U.S. at the age of three we lived on my uncles farm in Yuba City. Acquiring a steadfast work ethic from my parents, I started working as a farm laborer at the age of 12 helping my family pick peaches, prunes, walnuts, tomatoes, and almonds. In High School I started working different part-time office jobs and gained knowledge of office management. Fast forward a few years I got married  had two amazing boys and started work in patient finance services at Fremont Rideout Health Group in Marysville, CA now known as Adventist Health. I worked in different positions  at the hospital throughout my 25 year career. In 2011 with my kids grown I decided to venture out into medical billing,  After talking with numerous doctors I realized the need for medical billing and credentialing was huge. Opening Onyx Medical Associates in 2011 and becoming successful almost immediately after opening. This then prompted me to create a medical billing business training program in 2015 "The Business of Medicine" for anyone who wants to pursue entrepreneurship. We launched our second office Onyx Medical Business in Las Vegas, Nevada  in June 2021 to follow with Phoenix, Arizona in 2023 and Utah coming in 2025. We are undeniably a strong presence in the healthcare finance industry. My confidence and knowledge of the industry has propelled me into boardrooms of some the most powerful medical minds.

• I am absolutely passionate about the healthcare industry and the success of each one of my providers/clients that I personally oversee each detail of every account.
